Sheepskin is a perennial favorite and has been for centuries. Whether it be a retro look from the 1970s or a new interpretation, it makes a statement. When used for accent pillows, it can really add punch to a room. Traditionally they are often seen in a natural white color. Below, they are understated but really add a touch of glamour to an otherwise attractive but plain sofa.
Here they are used as a tone on tone accent in a still conservative, but less typical, grey color. It generates visual texture for the eye and almost adds another dimension to the room.
Present in black, in stark contrast to the white sofa, it gives the setting an old Hollywood style appeal.
In a completely modern reinterpretation, they are dyed vibrant colors which really command a second look.
Even mixed with luxe finishes such as sequins and beads, they hold their own and still command attention and impart added detail.
And don’t forget the throw. The purple seems almost regal in this setting!
Here we see two beautiful chairs, but what a difference the touch of sheepskin makes in the chair!
They also make wonderful occasional pieces.
When space is at a premium, they can also be tucked under an entry table and pulled out when extra seating is needed.
And don’t forget the rugs. They are fabulous in a nursery. What child wouldn’t want to crawl and take their first steps on such a wonderfully soft and textured floor.
Equally fabulous in obvious faux in the most chic of all modern settings.
